We’re Growing – Come Grow With Us!

Are you an experienced Band 5 ready to step up, or a current Band 6 therapist seeking a fresh opportunity to develop specialist skills and contribute to meaningful service development?

Our Merton Speech and Language Therapy Team is expanding! We’re offering exciting full-time Band 6 opportunities within our vibrant, friendly team—supporting pupils across a range of settings, including a primary school additional resource base (ARP) for pupils with Autism, and  a special school for children with PMLD.  (In the PMLD setting there is no requirement to manage Dysphagia which is managed by the NHS service)

In the special school you would be joining a team of 5 speech and language therapists in this outstanding special school for children aged 4-19, close to Morden Town Centre, working as part of a dynamic MDT.

About the Team

Our team works within the Local Authority across mainstream and special schools, the Youth Offending Team, and the Virtual School for Children in Care. We deliver high-quality statutory, targeted, and universal SLT support. We collaborate with educational professionals, occupational therapists, EPs, and SEN teams to ensure a joined-up, inclusive approach to care.

Support & Development

We invest in our therapists through:

  • Regular supervision (individual and peer-based)
  • Clinical Leads in Autism, SEMH, DLD, and Complex Needs
  • Funded internal and external CPD opportunities
  • Strong links with City and UCL for student placements
  • Opportunities to lead and share learning in your specialist area
  • Focus on evidence based practice and clinical autonomy
    • HCPC and RCSLT membership fees funded

 Flexible Working

The team is based at the Civic Centre in Morden, with flexible working arrangements supported by excellent IT. Admin time can be completed at home where appropriate. We cover mileage and public transport costs for travel between schools as well as reimburse professional fees for HCPC and RCSLT Membership.

Cultural Diversity Network

Our team is proud to have established a Cultural Diversity Network that actively supports, embraces, and celebrates the diverse cultural backgrounds of our therapists. This network provides a safe, inclusive space for open dialogue, where team members can share challenges, they encounter in their roles and discuss best practices for managing them. We believe that fostering a culture of respect and understanding enriches our work and helps us provide the best possible support to our children and YP we work with. Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive community that values diversity and is committed to continuous learning and growth.
