Merton is an award-winning local authority.  We are looking for a passionate Senior Data Analyst to work on an exciting change project aimed at supporting and delivering robust insights to inform decision making.

As part of the London Borough of Merton’s response to the national ‘Supporting Families Programme’, the Senior Data Analyst will support the work of the Insights to Intervention Project Team with developing a data lake. You will be required to work with a variety of large data sets and carry out creative analysis to solve complex problems, applying a range of tools and techniques.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with relevant skills, experience and energy to deliver this project.

You will be a self-starter and customer focused professional with solid data analysis skills, experience of developing and implementing solutions to challenging technical problems, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and acting as the interface with external IT/software providers.

You will be joining a professional and friendly project team with a diverse range of experience and knowledge.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Relevant higher education qualification, a numerate background and strong data analysis skills
• Experience of applying analytical concepts and techniques to deliver workable solutions to problems, data cleaning/manipulation/ investigation/ interpretation/modelling and drawing appropriate conclusions from the evidence
• Experience and good understanding of relevant data tools and systems, including appropriate approaches for verifying and validating data and analysis and systems, including Mosaic, Synergy, Core+, health, police etc.
• Experience of working with the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Bi, Power Apps [Canvas / Model Driven], Dataverse) and experience with some or all - SQL, Power Fx, DAX, M, Java Script, JSON.
• Experience of working with partners to build and maintain performance dashboards, data warehouses/lakes.
• Experience of managing multiple strands of work, delivering high quality outputs on time.
