Grade/Salary: ME14 £51,138 - £55,323 per annum - Full time - Fixed term
We are looking for a Public Health Intelligence Specialist to provide expert statistical and epidemiological advice to the Public Health team in the London Borough of Merton and its strategic partnerships.
The post holder will support the Public Health Information function particularly around children and families, assisting in the management of, developing and influencing the direction of public health information to reflect local, regional and national priorities.
The post holder will work closely with Children and Lifelong Learning and Families directorate of the Council. They will lead on insights that inform policies as well as the commissioning and provision of services, with a focus on this year’s priorities including child poverty, children’s social care reforms, special educational needs and prevention They will work seamlessly with partners and provide information that will enable a full understanding of health needs in the area, addressing health inequalities, informing priorities for action, and assisting wider understanding of the characteristics of the local population.
We are looking for an experienced person who is flexible to changing demands, who pays attention to detail but is creative and enjoys problem-solving.
The role is hybrid with some working at the main offices in Morden, South West London which has good transport links including tube, train and bus.
