Welcome to SLLP

Job Opportunities at the South London Partnership. Please visit our website About SLLP (join-sllp.com)

We provide a wide range of legal services to the London Boroughs of Merton, Richmond, Sutton, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kingston, making us the largest local authority shared legal service in the country. As such, we are able to offer employment opportunities across all aspects of local government legal work. We take pride in offering a high quality and proactive legal service, bringing all the insight that being an in-house service involves and combining that with commercial expertise and a breadth of experience smaller teams may not be able to offer.

We are based in South West London and our team can work out of any of 5 locations as well as remotely although this role will require regular office attendance in support of business needs as organisations promote business as usual. We have a wide range of flexible working options and have developed a number of health and well-being initiatives over the years.

The SLLP is seeking to recruit a Principal Lawyer with a proven track record in local government matters either working in a council or in private practice with a local government client base.   This role will assist in managing a team of property lawyers which has a diverse work load dealing with complex and high profile matters including supporting of new build housing through regeneration projects, guiding clients through governance processes relating to innovative and challenging delivery structures for acquisitions, disposals and development and asset management support.  You should have the ability to handle negotiations and provide advice on all property related matters as well as overseeing the work of a team of property lawyers so you will need to be committed to helping other develop skills and knowledge in this area as well as growing your own leadership, legal and professional capabilities. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, drafting skills and the ability to provide legal advice to a variety of audiences, including senior officers and Members.
