We’re looking for a Local Authority Research Practitioner (LARP) to help develop a stronger, more confident research culture within our directorate and support the integration of evidence into everyday decision making. In this developmental role, you will support teams to build their research capability, strengthen local evaluation practice, and improve how evidence is used in policy, commissioning and service design. You will help shape our approach to research governance, build practical tools and training that increase staff confidence, and provide hands on support with qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods projects that improve the lives of local residents.

You will also play a key role in growing our partnerships with academic institutions, research networks, community organisations and residents themselves. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the directorate, you’ll support inclusive engagement, co production, lived experience driven insight, and opportunities for staff to share learning through networks and forums. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated, creative and committed to helping us become a more research active, insight-driven directorate—one that uses high quality, community centred research to make better decisions and deliver better outcomes.
