We are looking for an experienced educator with qualified teacher status, who is an excellent communicator. You will be working with parents and carers to support them with the elective home education of their child/children and report on the suitability of provision to the EHE team.
The role includes:
- Meeting with parents in their homes or other suitable locations
- Advising parents on resources to support the education of their children
- Quality assuring that children being home educated are receiving a suitable education, within the statutory frameworks governing home education
- On behalf of the Local Authority, acting in the interests of the child, particularly if a change in their circumstances occurs
- Reporting to and liaising with managers in Education Welfare Service and Children’s Social Care to ensure that their functions are discharged with regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
